Whether you’re hungry or willing to share.  Loaded Fries are a great appetizer or snack.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb frozen or fresh French fries
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Prepare the Fries:
    1. If using fresh potatoes, cut them into fries and soak in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry.
    2. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (180°C).
    3. Fry the potatoes in batches for about 5-6 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. If using frozen fries, bake or fry according to package instructions.
  • Assemble the Loaded Fries:
    1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
    2. Spread the cooked fries on a baking sheet or in an oven-safe dish.
    3. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the fries.
    4. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the cheese.
  • Melt the Cheese:
    1. Place the fries in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Add the Toppings:
    1. Remove the fries from the oven and top with sour cream, chopped green onions, diced tomatoes, and sliced jalapeños (if using).
    2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve:
    • Serve the loaded fries immediately, with additional sour cream or ranch dressing on the side if desired.
